Sound

sound in a film is highly important because it will help shape a film to have it reach its full potential. These type of sounds below are used in many film we watch today.
Diegetic sound is sound that is part of the film world we are viewing. This can be dialogue, music or sound effects that comes from a source within the film world. In this instance the music will be from a source in the film which we notice could actually be producing music, which for example a CD player or jukebox.
Nondiegetic sound is sound which we dont realise as part of the film world such as a voice-over or background music, titles, subtitles and captions.
Parallel sound is sound that matches to an image or action shown.
Contrapuntal sound is sound that does'nt match to an image or action.

Lighting assists to convey how the mood or atmosphere of a particular scene we are subjecting to. If an object or gesture is brightly lit upon with a light, it will show the importance of this moment of the storyline whilst irrelevant detail is in darkness. Shadows in a scene can be used to devolope suspense by hiding elements in the scene from the audience.
